WoW Forever Rogue
Rogue follows the same pattern as Warrior: the four weapon specialisation talents are gone and Hack and Slash grants a benefit per weapon type. In Classic that decision locked you into swords or daggers for a whole phase. In Forever one build handles whatever drops.

Rogue for Forever: Quick Sim live in beta
MythicSim is integrating the open-source wowsims engine, via its community Forever fork, as a second backend. The engine is theirs; MythicSim adds the hosting and the one-click front end. Quick Sim ships first, checked against live beta data from 17 September 2026. Stat priorities, trinket boards and a droptimizer follow once beta gear and loot tables exist. Retail Midnight sims are unaffected.
What changes for Rogue
Mutilate arrives as a baseline builder for Assassination and Venom is a new poison. Cutthroat gives Subtlety an Ambush proc during the fight, and Restless Blades lets Combat shorten Adrenaline Rush and Blade Flurry by spending combo points.
The Skyborne can be Rogues on either faction, and Expertise replaces weapon skill for the behind-the-boss dodge problem.

Races
Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome, Orc, Undead, Troll, Skyborne. The Skyborne can be Rogues on either faction. Racials are rebuilt so no two races share a passive and weapon skill racials are gone, which is why race is a real sim input in Forever.
What the Rogue sim has to model
Beyond the engine-wide changes (unified hit and crit, Expertise, bonus healing as spell damage, periodic crits), these are the Rogue-specific pieces the Forever engine needs before a stat weight for this class means anything.
- A Mutilate builder with Venom interaction for Assassination.
- Restless Blades cooldown reduction per finisher for Combat.
- Hack and Slash as a single weapon-agnostic proc, with Expertise instead of weapon skill.

Do I need a /simc string to sim a Forever Rogue?
No. The SimulationCraft addon is retail-only. Forever sims will use a Classic-style character export addon that MythicSim ships with the sim. Until it is live, this page is reference material for the class changes.
